The birds are require to be banded if you are planning to fly in the WCF. I don't plan to band my birds anytime soon because I'm always moving and stuff. I'm moving soon and I have no place to put them. I'm waiting to finish college and get a house of my own so that I can have my own REAl family of BR.

I didn't think that there was anything in the rules about needing bands to fly in comp!

That's what I thought too Val. A band don't determine a bird's talent. It's its ability to do the work. Maybe a band just looks nice on a bird. I don't breed a whole lot, so it's not hard for me to keep track of them.

Val,

Hmm... from what I remember. In a young bird fly, you would need to be sporting all that year's band or was it last year's. Any, I do recall reading about needing a seamless band (with year) to fly in all the flies... local or big.

Any band... old or new is better than no bands at all in my books.

Just my take,
Thor

I guess your right for a specific young or old bird fly! I have birds entered in a futurity fly and your right, they have to be banded with this years bands!

I band all my birds, I was just thinking of a thread that came up a couple of years ago about flying in the WC and FF without bands, and I thought it was decided that is wasn't a requirement! I know that when I flew in the WC last spring, the judge never asked to see my birds before I flew!

I left ??? at the end of my post, because I wasn't sure! I still have a lot to learn in this comp game!
