Is there any times during the day when there are no BOP around or less around??
What is the deadliest BOP for a pigeon?

Overall, I would say the peregrine falcon is the worst on pigeons! They will make multiple kills just for the sport of it! They are very good at their business (hunting) also!
Here in my area, the cooper hawk is my biggest headache! If I fly between 10 am to 3 pm, I usually get hit. Before or after that, I have pretty good luck!

The longer the day goes the more likely the BOP has eaten. I fly late afternoon and rarely get hit. If I am looking for action I fly around noon.

Coopers hawks are the worst where I am. My lofts are surrounded by BIG oak and hickory trees. The hawks just set up an ambush and nail them. Letting squeaks out for the first few times is the worst. I going to fly next years birds out of a portable kitbox in farm fields up the road from me.

The time they are not around will vary by how far away they roost or nest from your loft; where you are at in their hunting routine; and if they have made a kill before they get to your loft area.
If you make it easy for them by putting your birds up on the same schedule day in and day out they will make it a point to hunt on your schedule at your place.
I believe the Cooper to be the most deadist because I think there are simply more of them ---------- Just My Take On Things

I have a much bigger problem with the peregrine falcons. I have a window 1 1/2 hour before dark where my chances are better. Problem being that if a cooper comes in under them when flying that late I run the risk of losing the whole kit as they will overfly rather than come back down to the cooper.

first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon. Late fall and winter are much worse here though. not really a good time then. Just have to stagger the days I fly, which is easy cause in the winter I normally work till dark during the week. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

I fly between 6:30am and 7:30am and have the best luck of not getting hit. When I fly in the later afternoon I fly at 5:30pm and I have not seen noon for a couple of weeks now. ---------- Jerries Loft

Game when I am looking for action I ride around with my mobile kit until I find a hungry looking hawk and turn out my FOR's on him. I try to get him to chase them. They have boogered my resident Peri's so they dont even come around any more. Coopers will always look for an easy meal.
