Flying has been great last while here as an Osprey has been fishing the shoreline across the street from us and the freakin henery seemed to have buggered off .I think the Osprey in the hood has something to do with it.Anyhow, going on a roadtrip tomorrrow so all birds flew out together tonight and were performing decent but when they trapped in I noticed one 07 hen had spun so hard her (what looks like) her oviduct spun out and it's hanging there out abpout 6 inches.Hue puta. What should I do?Just leave it and see if it dries up and heals or snip it off?Someone here has had this experience,I'm sure.Of course for the birds sake I'm prepared to do the ultimate thing and end it's misery but I'm always more inclined to help a bird out if I can.Any knowledge on this please.--------- Kel. Kel, I had a hen do this a long time ago. An oldtimer advised me to coat the protrusion sparingly with oil (olive or cod liver) and to gently push it back into her cavity. Trying to feed it back the way it came out. What I mean is from the point closest to the bird, gently insert the protrusion turning it back on it's self until it returns into her cavity. My hen recovered and was still fertile. Best of luck! Thom

Even though the hen's internals corrected itself be very careful flying that hen again, had the samething happen once put the bird up for a couple of weeks and the next time she flew did the exact same thing.

Yeah, right.I've had it heal before on another bird but it was not nearly so bad as this time.I guess I've been a little slack at keeping track of how much feed they've been getting some days they get a little too much and before you know it they are eggy. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts
