Dave, Scott, My thoughts exactly! "You have to be in it to win it!" What's so difficult of trying to change fly rules while being a member or "an important contribution to my hobby " and working to influence change from within in some way? If nothing else it makes your complaints, desires and excuses a little more valid with the possibility that your not just wishing for change in a vacuum! Surely everyone is entitled to thier opinions, but it has a more "cred" if your a least signed up in the 21st century! Otis

Excellent post Cliff. Keep up the good work Paul and why don't you just pay your $35 dues and DQ just to pay your way into this kind of discussion :)
I see some of your opposition DQed several times in the past. If it was ok for them, then it will be ok for you. Good luck.
Nick, his name is Louis Otis.

Cliff and Todd... Your statements about my involvement here are right on the money... "I feel sure Paul flew his share of competitions at some point in time, and as soon as he feels ready, he will enter back into competition. Ken Firl as a veteran flyer has pointed out the validity of addressing problems with the existing system, and these guys are not the first to do so, by any means. All of these opinions are worthy of discussion here. It is not about who believes who the most, or who has the most experience, or who is scoring the most points or multipliers.....it is about sharing ideas." Cliff
"Whether Paul competes or not, whether your friends developed the current system,or how long we have been flying roller pigeons is NOT the issue. Paul has a valid quality issue with the present system." Todd I'm active again... It's just a matter of time. I will want to compete in an improved system, even if I have to organize it myself. I also plan to be part of a 30 point competition. Paul G

List, Much has been said in this thread that insinuates that those men with lengthy winning fly records are the ones with the more intelligent opinions. Well, that said, I wish to ask any flyer among us that has won the FF or WC twice to speak up and show us the light. ........................................................................................................... OK, how about men who have won the WC or FF (20 bird) just once? (I would mention the 11 bird fly but it has been described in glowing terms publicly as a Sissy fly, so no need to go there.)................................................................................Hear that pin drop? Is there, what, around 30-35-40 men out of the entire NBRC membership and the entire number of WC flyers, that have WON a national or international finals fly? Hmmmm, what about men who have men who have been voted into the most prestigious group the NBRC has to offer.. THE NBRC Hall Of Fame? Any HOF members here? So what we do have, (even if we had all the winners) is guys that put their pants on one leg at a time, men (and ladies) who enjoy raising Rollers, and varying degrees of experience in all phases of the hobby. That is the reality of it. We have some excellent flyers on this board and we have men with a wealth of experience on this board. The one thing I would like to see more of on this board, other than winners are men with humility and respect for the opinions of others; men who know how to discuss issues without talking down to men who disagree with them; men who know how to mentor our new members; men who know how to give of themselves, give from the heart; MEN WHO ACT LIKE MEN and not like knuckle dragging bullies. I am very thankful none of those are on this board. ;0) OK, I'll get down off my soapbox, now. LOL. Cliff
