It is the position of the wings when they roll! A = they touch at the top, H = they would be straight, V = wider than an H! I'm guessing that the axle roller is more of a straight out wing position!
I'm pretty much self taught, so I may not be right on with my answer, but I can't stand to see someone set here with no answer!
Hope this helps!
Seldom do we have the experienced guys here take time for us novice flyers anymore! Seems like we're not worthy of their time anymore! They just come here to spar with one another! We will just have to help one another it looks like, and learn as we go! ---------- Val

Electricman, I am gald that you said that! I have posted before and receive little response. I enjoy the conversation with the novices (like myself), but ther are many out ther with years of knowledge and they seem to just brush aside greenhorn questions. It has become very discouraging! But, I will go on! lol! I love my birds too much! ---------- scrimpscrampi Tulsa, OK

Sal, Thanks for the sketches... I have seen them before, and I don't think I agree with the one on the leftm because in my experience the bird that completely balls up doesn't show the hole. What do you think? Paul G

Val, thanks!
Paul, I actually agree, to me this is the bird that just shrinks on the roll, and you also know what I think about the hole..lol..Remember longer backs, and of course everything else has to fall into place. ---------- Sal Ortiz

Gotspin...no, I just started over with some new blood and I don't have a kit going good yet. I guess I could just suck it up and do it, huh? lol! Besides, I have never seen a judges fly before! I don't even know what to really aim for outside what I read on here. I would like to attend some of those fall flys this year though. ---------- scrimpscrampi Tulsa, OK

The chart is very good for a general comparison, BUT not many birds will show the hole. I was convinced for years it was an optical illusion. But this year I saw it with my own eyes with my own bird. This bird has better than average speed and perfect style and good depth. This bird starts slow and gets faster for thirty feet blurring out towards the end.
You have to be in perfect position also to see it. A bird has to be pretty close to the ground for you to be able to see the hole. I did some trigonometric calculation to determine how high the bird could be before it was no longer visible. It is not very high.
I will dig it up and post it if the Hurricane doesnt get the power. The eye is seventy five miles from me and coming straight over my house in about twelve hours. Ten to twenty inches of rain or more.

Thanks Scott. This is just a minor one. We need the rain. May have to repair the road to the house though but I have a dump truck and backhoe.
