There has been dissention between the guys who raise Higgins birds, the "Higginites" as they have come to be known up there, and the other members of the CPRA for some time now. Many original members of the CPRA that don't breed the Higgins birds feel they have been consistantly discriminated against, in the scheduling of the competitions. Apparrently Ron Duncan, as judge, also DQ'd Randy Gibson for having an outbird in an 11-bird compeition, which is allowable under the rules, so the DQ was illegitimate, but Ron refused to reverse his decision or to apologize to Randy for his error. Tim Decker and Randy Gibson vowed never to compete under Duncan again, left the region, and requested permission to fly with San Diego, which has been granted. Apparently many other flyers have followed suit. (Brian McCormick is stuck in the middle, now). Ron resigned in the aftermath, a week ago, and Abel Iberra has stepped up to try to re-unite the region. Good luck, Abel. This is no small task you have taken on. Let me know if there is any way that I can help. That's the story as best I can piece it together, third party, from several sources in the region. So you have two choices, Gabe. Contact Abel and fly with your region, which I suggest, or contact the San Diego RD and fly with them. Cliff
