Yesterday I flew my birds and they were fliyng too fast. The kit consists of mainly 08 birds with about six 07 birds. And they have been on wheat only, they usually fly at a good pace and roll accordingly. There was some wind but normal for this time a year in Rialto so what do you guys think caused this???

Firstly,if most of these birds are 08's I would put them on a feed at least 16%. They need all the protien they came get to build body and muscles. Secondly, its sounds like they are fed too much. Cut back on the feed and see what happens. Depending on your climate,1 tbl per bird. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul

Paul is dead right on when he talk about the correct feed for youngsters."They need all the protein they came get to build body and muscles". like he said one Tbl per bird now to play with them this is how i do it if flying too high or not the time i want, say 20 birds 20 Tbl spoon then i give 18 Tbl them 16 Tbl until i get to where i want them with the amount they respond to . then i keep an eye on them i grab the bird and feel its weight if its too light i rest them and feed them back up until they feel strong again and not too light.. you got to be real careful when you training young birds especially with there feed ,If they flying too fast give them time young birds do that.they will eventually get a slow pace on them self but if you fly them on strong winds they will developed bad habits and fly in S pattern around the houses and fast too. just be patient consistent never give up and it all will fall in place soon for you. Observe and patience. ---------- Ralph
