Hey Nick, Sorry to hear about that.. You should be getting most of them back, hopefully, as long as they have a little age on them. I've lost about 20 birds so far, mostly chased away by coopers. I've been hit the last two days... Gomez
kel. Today here.. my neighbor let his homers out and the sharp-shinned attacked.. fortunetly didn't get anything. And about 4 hours ago, a falcon flew right over my house.. So fast. :(

I thought I almost lost all 5 of my birds today. They flew so high into the pins. They have never done this before and then they disappeared into the clouds. About 45mins or so they came back 1 by 1 slowly... very scary!
I flew my 3rd team today of 30 birds around 6pm, they were trying to land around 7pm but then the cooper came and chased them up and kept them up till dark. It's now 11:26pm and I only got 6 back... I hope that I get the rest back as this was going to be a very good team, they are already working together, breaking, nice fly patterns...man I hope they all come back tomorrow. ---------- Efren Lopez SGVS http://lopezloft22.bravehost.com/
goodluck getting them back efren. Im sure they just landed somewhere for the night. my birds have done that twice before, because of same reasons and all made it back in the morning. Cooper and falcon hit my kit for the first time yesterday evening around 550pm (cooper) and 620pm (falcon). Lost one to the falcon. Keep us updated! ---------- Gary
Sal, they usually fly around 1 hour so I had 2 hours before it got dark and they were heading down before the cooper chased them up. ---------- Efren Lopez SGVS http://lopezloft22.bravehost.com/
3-4 weeks ago I put up my 3rd round (39) and decided to fly all my hold over hens with them (20 total, 8 A Team, 12 B Team hold over hens, extras really) making a total of 59 birds. It was mid morning, I had already flown my 1st and 2nd rounds that morning and they flew fine. I commited the cardninal sin of rollermen (started cleaning waterers and not watching the kit) and the next thing I knew the whole group... all 59 were gone. I put up my B Team hold over cocks to lure them back and they went way way up and had me worried for a few minutes there... but started a gradual decline after about 25 minutes or so. By the time I got the extra cocks down I had about 4-5 of the hens back, no 3rd round youngsters. By the end of the day I had 13 hens back and a couple of young birds. The next day I got 1 more hen back and a couple more youngsters. I lost 6 hold over hens (3-A Team, 3-B Team. I got 5 young birds back out of the 3rd round (lost 34) Making my total loss 40 birds... it was not encouraging to say the least fellas! I feel your pain!!! ---------- Joe Dan Parson Full Turn Lofts North Texas
40! Now that's some hurting. I feel bad that my missing 2 didn't return, 40 would just kill me... ---------- Efren Lopez SGVS http://lopezloft22.bravehost.com/
