Sure hope they leave for you soon andy. They're just starting to get bad again here time to lockdown pretty quick.Lost one tonight to the henery first time in quite awhile. If you think the BOP are going away anytime soon you're dreaming man, unless things are way different in Alberta as far as migration and food supplies for the SOBs goes.Good luck and let us know when you're flyin them and the results,eh!

Hey Kel.. No the BOP's really do leave because there is absolutely no food in the winter. Last winter, the coldest day was -51 C (-60F) and no BOP's want to be in that.. I am able to keep my loft at +22 in that :D but I like to keep it right around +10C - +15C.. In the winter I see the odd goshawk every couple months.. and one or two falcons in the whole winter, so I should be fine. If some of my birds are 3-4 months old when they start flying, will they fully develop properly? :)

They will probably be more difficult to get to fly and kit and do all the things that come almost naturally when they are 6 to 8 weeks of age,but give it a go and if the one or 2 falcons you see all winter don't hone in on your YBs you be good.
