Has anyone ever thought or tried attaching a small camera to one of their birds and then letting it go for a fly?

It would be interesting to see what a bird looks like flying in the air and how everything looks down below....

I went paragliding in Colombia last Christmas and we were up about 400ft,the height our Rollers like to fly. What a gas!!!There was a bird flying beneath us for a couple minutes and that was cool.If one put a camera on a Roller pigeon,it would have to be strapped on there pretty good if the bird was a decent spinner.Imagine that seeing the donut from inside!!??

Yea it would be a crazy sight! I bet a small enough camera would cost a lot of money tho.

Id like to strap one to a raceing pigeon and see its journey in the race...

I saw a tv show where they put a small camera on a homer. It was pretty cool when it got close to home it followed roads and made turns at intersections.I've also seen video of a redtail wearing a camera catch a rabbitt and a peregrine dive down and nail a pheasant. It would be cool to put one on a roller.

It would be really tough to put one on a roller because of the size of the bird. It would work on a homer. The accepted weight of an on board camera is 5% of the subjects weight. On an 8oz. roller that is only .4oz. That is some kind of tiny. Love to see it though.
