Just put my hens in an empty kitbox to seperate them from the cocks last night.Everybody seems pretty darned happy and content if you asked me!!I think they probably appreciate the break from all the hanky panky! ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

I have yet to hit on what I would call a click pair. I do not mate them up the same way every year. Splitting up the pairs makes it easier to pair them up when the time comes.

I usually keep pairs together that I am not going to split....when I do split them I put the hens in a hen loft..and leave the cocks in the breeder loft to hold down there nest box. The pairs I do keep together..I use wooden eggs.....so really space out the laying...

i think you will find seperating your birds will get them to pair up and lay eggs quickly.and the other advantage is a rest does them good ,

I break up my pairs, gives them a break so they can be healthy for next years breeding season. Its easier to make new pairs. When you are trying something new. I leave my cocks in the breeding pen so they can keep their nest too. Art Gaona
