I got a bird that is limping and always resting one of its foot... Any ideas on what can be done or how to take care of it?

Check the band on it, check the feet, if anything is broken.. this sometimes happens just like a stubbed toe.. I have had it, but an hour later the bird is completely fine..

Game!
I have had a couple that would act that way, I felt the leg and the joints nothing seemed to be broken but when I would spread out the foot it would draw it back up real quick. I rested them a day or two and they recovered. I am pretty sure someone suggested that worms might cause the joint to be swollen????? but I don't really remember, mine had been wormed so I knew that wasn't it.

Had the same problem, put him in a separate kit box, gave him a week off, and at the end of that week, he was back to normal.

I heard somewhere that when a bird breaks his leg, it can be healed quickly by splinting with a popsicle stick, but even if left alone, usually heals itself. Wish WE were that way!

Use a leg splint, separate him from the flock, check that you are not losing circulation in the leg. should be fine in little while.

It could had hurt it landing if its flying or stuck in wire cage .I usually isolate it if its injure and dip it in Epsom salt for couple of minutes twice a day then put a breeding bowl the soft carton one with soft materials in it and put the bird in it.hope he gets better..
