the males puff up their crop and coo and strut with their tail dragging the ground and when they jump the male will be on top.hens are usually smaller.if you feel like stickin yer finger in their vent it has been said the hen's vent is bigger than the cock's.when they are a few days old look at their vent and if it is smiling it is a cock and if it is frowning it is a hen.Figures,eh. ---------- Kel. RED.........this is a method that I use. And so far it's 100% fool proof for me. Take a piece of sewing thread about 6" long. Tie a paper clip to the end of the thread. Hold the thread so the paper clip is over the base of the birds tail(where the tail feathers meet the body) about 1/2" above the body. If the clip goes in a circle its a hen,if it goes from side to side,its a cockbird. ---------- Fly High and Roll On

Watch the bird in question, remember that Kel told you, the bird will reveal itself to you if you watch it for just a few mins.

the bones right around their but... the females usually have wide vents and the males have ones that almost touch.. (usually)
