Region 9H was just approved from the EC...17 yes votes and 0 no votes...Now it is just a matter of setting a border between 9F and the new 9H region...the border is already set to the North with us at 9B...HWY 12

Tim,
It is not by club....it is by the area within the region...like us in 9B...the hifive roller flyers are in our region and then you have the Sacramento area flyers and Scott C....I think is is in the or something to that affect.
so it is on by club..

I do not know the exact rules...Cliff may be the best person to ask...but I know that you have to have enough people for a qualifier.....I remember reading a rule that the first year you do not have qualifier your region is dissolved and you go back to your own region. Cliff would be the best person to talk to about this. All you have to do is get agreement from your surrounding regions and the petition the NBRC EC on why you need the spit...Now if any of the regions around you are real weak it most likely will not happen.....because you do not want to make a new region and make another weak.
Region 9B and 9F are both strong regions they each have 15 plus fliers......and the new region has about 15 so it is perfect and the new region base is about 1.5 hours past 9B southern most border and about the same from the core of 9F....so you have to petition with good reasons...and not weaken other regions and have the blessings of your surrounding regions that would border your new region.

You said it pretty well, Paul. There is no specific rule on the number of flyers, Tim. Obviously you have to be able to get a qualifier, and as Paul said, both regions (the old and the new) have to continue to support at least one qualifer. It is based more on the legitimacy of the reason behind the split and how well the EC can be convinced that the split is needed. Too many regions are now being requested because of squabbles and dsagreements between local clubs, because of the distance to be traveled and the gas expense, and other less appetizing reasons. For every region formed, it increases the cost of the over-all competition, requiring another stop for the finals judge. We are increasing the size and expense of the compeititon, without really increasing the number of flyers as quickly as we are the number of regions. Only a few regions are being formed because of actual growth in the region with an increase in the number of new flyers. We have to draw the line somewhere...or restructure the regions.....
