What happens when kit birds start to pair up? What should I do? I don't need them following each other..

i dont think anything happens.
they still fly like normal.
i had kit birds that paired up, they still preform the same like how a kit box fliers fly.

How old are you kit birds? If you have more than one kit, you can separate them to another kit. So far, I have never gotten to the point where my kit birds are attach to some other birds in their kit. They usually don't like each other. Funny, because they only like my other kit birds from another kit. Some flyer's kit boxes are dark and scary, that way they can't really see each other.
I don't know, but I think that when a BR bird becomes attach or in love with another bird, their performance starts to lack. Just my theory.

Andrew, I had to end up separating my birds into hen kits and cock kits. The Rooster birds would not let the hens alone, constantly trying to force them down. My boxes are not completely dark, I will try that next time but it is so hot and humid here most of the year I worry about the heat building up in a closed box.

Cut their feed back so all they want to think about is where the next meal is coming from, not the next babe. What I'm saying is maybe you're feeding them too much.

The cock or the hen will eventually begin to pull away from the kit. If one leaves, the other will follow. And before you know it, some of the other kits birds will follow them also. Suggestions will be to seperate them by putting them in seperate kit boxes or, cut the feed back.
Another habbit you may see is, the cock getting to cocky and now wants to mate to everything. And there goes your performance. The hens begin to lay eggs in your kit box. Too much feed. Cut back or cut back on the cock.

Ya well, the worst thing is if you feed em so much the hens get eggy. That's when problems can really pop up like spun out oviducts and you'll be wanting to cut their feed for sure.

Kel took the words right out my mouth. If you feeling sorry about starving your birds which in reality is not just giving what they need not what they want thats what you go by.If you don't heed by that than you still will lose your birds by blowing out an oviduct..
Its best to cut the feed down or separate them and still the hens will get eggy on you without a male,so darken kit box ,cut the feed and if you don't want to do that throw all the eggs out put fake eggs under them and you can still fly them.

Not in my kitbox because they not thinking of sex I'm always on top of that they thinking about food..plus i have them in semi dark box..now when i use to have my breeders separated they would lay eggs in the corner the hens with the hens pair up lesbian style.but they not good eggs so no big deal.

My birds it happens if I screw up and feed too much for too long.Rare tho as I learned awhile back what it is like to have a bird come in with it's arsehole hanging out.Not pretty.A lot of guys probably won't admit to it happening as it shows poor management. If you are on top of your kitbirds and watch how much you feed them it shouldn't happen.

Yea Kel especially out there where the weather gets cold and you have to feed them up .see here its the same all year.I only feed them when i want to get them out of shape so they fly lower but they go into a different kitbox totally dark they can't see arse.. what you can't see you can't touch.

Ralph,
Out here where the weather gets cold we (I) am locking down. It is a hawk attack every fly. Just not worth it to keep trying. Eggy hens are the least of the problems.

For maintaining birds you're not flying,10 birds-one cup=(8-ounces).Depends,,,,if you're flying them and they are mature, try the Yo-Yo method of feeding---fly day-1 cup, 1st rest day-1/2 cup,2nd rest day-1/4 cup. They'll be climbing the wire before you fly them on fly day but they are the best actors, they're not starving, beleive me.

Kel, Check your system battery on the mother board, just be carefull to ground yourself by touching the frame work of the case and keep touching it until you have the battery out and the same proceedure when replacing it.
