our hobby needs some form of technology and our hobby needs statistics. maybe some real proven facts? i think that our hobby is based too much on opinions and of course there is too much of it out there. JMO...i think that we need to put down more scientific facts so when we have problems we can think of specific conclusions. have answers to our hypothesis. i think thats how you would become successful in this hobby or just about everything...think of a question, keep records, and write down information... just speaking my mind. anybody want to add?-joe v.

Hi Joe; If we could fit everything into one box it would be an easy matter for everyone to raise top-notch rollers. Some families do well on certain feeds and others may require a different program to fare well. Even within families there are differences among the individual birds. They are not all clones even though they may look alike. Location, weather, handler training etc. all play a part in the outcome. It is this diversity that makes it so interesting. How bored would you be if you saw exactly the same thing at every loft? Al

When I over think things I tend to shoot myself in the foot, breeding records are a must, but my best through the years are burned into my mind, same with good and bad pairings. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

well Al, that is the main reason why i brought up this, to fit everything into one box and raise top-notch rollers. The fancier's training, the location and weather all do play a part in the outcome thats why one should take good notes. there are so many things and attributes that is why one should ask questions why and what are the differences among the individuals of a certain family of rollers that causes it to be alike or differ or it to be a great or poor individual. Of course i would be bored if i saw the same thing at every loft[bad kitting & breaking]. Well just trying to make a some sort of an point and idea.-joe v.

Joe; Don't let me discourage you...keep reaching for that star......The journey is always more interesting than reaching the destination and much can be learned along the way! Al

i think it is a great idea, but there is many solutions to one problem for instance when a bird gets a pigeon pox there is just so many ways to cure it such as alcohol, lemon, carmax, vicks, and many many different remedys.Anyway i wonder who would spend countless hours doing research on finding remedys when i could just ask someone who has been through it before.peace and love.-pisto
