how do you guys get your birds to fly out of your kit wen you open the doors?
mine stays in there untill i toss some in the air than i have to use a flag to scare the rest out of there kit.
any advise on getting them out without using the flag to scare them?

Just kidding! Mine usually come out pretty good on their own, if I have a problem, it is usually just in the trainers(young birds) and I just toss my hat in there and that usually gets them out quick!

if you throw your hat in there,
wouldn't it get feces on it?

would you out it back on your head?

The birds not bolting out is a good thing to me. That way you can open the door and handle the birds without them getting away.

Get a small flag and flag them out when you want them out. They will quickly learn to come out anytime they see the flag and stay in otherwise.

Great training method.

for me, when i open the door i clap and throw a bird out of the kit box and the rest will follow. after a while they will understand and learn that when i open the door and clap then they have to fly like it or not.

Whats a hat without scat on it? Are we true pigeon men or not? LOL

I keep my kit boxes pretty clean! The wire bottoms let most of it pass on through anyways.

I just clap my hands and tap on the side of the loft while making a shhhh shhhhh noise.

It works they slowly learn its time to fly. Some of the birds now know its time to go as soon as I open the door without making any noise.
