how can we prevent it? by something in thr food!! or something!!? i use bath salts!! but if ther a way or a additive to put in the food or water!!? and do all types of pigeons have this problem? and how bad is this dandruff? its in my pool and all over the lawn!! any ideas help!!

This time of year is bad for pigeon dander,when they are moulting heavily now it is worse.When my white Homers are on the power line and they flap their wings the powder just flys off them in clouds.I doubt if a little dander in your pool will hurt you tho. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

Are you feeding any oil seeds in their diet such as safflower and black oil sunflowere seed? I would think you need to add a little more. I give them in my breeder mix every day and haven't noticed dander being a problem.
I would also give them baths as often as possible!

i bought a shop vac because of that stuff and it reduced that from flying all around,even feathers too, i vacuum as much as possible, one of the best tools i have to clean up the loft works great.
