How many birds do you think I can have in an 8x8 shed (well ventilated) with a 12 x 10 flight pen, in order for the birds to be 100% healthy. Keep in mind the flight pen will be closed during snow/winter. Right now I have 30. Is that too many?

I can make 4 kitboxes around that shed with 20 in each, total of 80 birds,,. sure you have enough ..but remember quality not quantity...with the price of feed these days you wanna keep low..

Andrew, to get a good ballpark idea on your loft capacity use the formula, LengthXwidthXheight divided by 15= the number of birds. If your loft is 6' tall that gives you 25.6 birds,so round up to 26. You're in good shape with 30 birds. The formula was made up for the square foot requirements of the birds to keep them pretty stress free and healthy.I'm sure you could jam 50 or 6o in no problem, but I think it will lead to poor conditions and health.
