Feed them less! They should only be flying for 20-30 minutes and then they should be coming in hungry!
A BOP attack or two and they will likely break their habbit also! Try to get this habbit fixed before you loose some. Good luck! ---------- Val

Cut back on the feed and look for the bird(s) that keep landing on the line. You may have to get rid of the worst offenders.

1.No feed for a day 2.Cull the first 3 that touches the pole! Repeat steps 1. & 2. until that problem is solved.

Cut the feed box them up take them to the opposite direction from pole let them out.get some water balloons ready or a flag and stand by that pole break there habit until they land on their kitbox.if all else let out five at a time and see who is the main culprit and do what you think is best..good luck.. ---------- Ralph

I don't know if you could do it and get away with it where you are but I take a sledge hammer and hit the pole. it vibrates the pole and wires. they don't seem to like that. but I do agree that cutting back on the feed is a good idea. when I first started mine would go sit in a pine tree, I'd throw stuff at them and they would go higher and sit there until the sun was going down then come in.

I find it really hard to figure out which ones are the culprits, but it makes sense to divide the kit in to two groups, fly them separately, hope that one group doesn't land and then you know all the birds in that group are fine. Start working through the other group to cull the one or two bad guys.
We did that the other day, removed the culprit, and what a difference that made in their flight!

Thanks all;i cut back on the food,no food for a day,and make sure they only get enough so they come back hungry, also decided not to let them out to early,i will only fly them after 4:00 p.m. as for banging on the pole with a hammer can't do that it's a light pole on the freeway, and i can't throw anything at them because i may hit a car.so looks like i may have to find the culprits and take them out,i will let you all know the out come in a few days. Thanks again. :) Tom

thanks again all,i cut back on the food and have not let them out for 2 days, also i noticed one of my birds is missing,i think it was eaten by a hawk, ive been seeing them flying around the house, dont know if this has anything to do with them landing on the pole.when i do decide to let them out i will MAKE SURE THAT THEIR ARE NO HAWKS AROUND and only let my best fliers out 2 or 3 at a time, until the whole kit is out, then i will know if this is working.

an update: birds are up and flying its as if the pole is not there anymore.i solved this problem by following everyones advice and by taking out all the birds that were landing and putting them in a separate loft, i only kept the good fliers flying and after a few weeks i started to let the other birds back in to the kit a few at a time now they are all kitting real nice and flying like they should, when they come down to land they land on the roof of the loft. amazing. thanks all. tom :)

that is one of the things i took in to consideration and i also took away the water, once i did that i had total control, some birds were even going to the neighbors water hose to drink,i gave them some of course but i did not leave any in the loft so they can have all they want just enough to get control and that worked out well. oh and pr rollers thanks for the comments but i think i'm a long way from being a kitmaster,i've only been back in the hobby 4 months. tom
