hey you guys, i'm kinda curious. i've been wondering about starting off with a whole new kit and family birds. i've been getting birds here and there. and is it worth it to cut down to just one's where you know the bloodline and family. or is it worth it to keep the other birds? any tip or ideas to help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Only stay with one as of us that have more than one have many problems with them. They will not roll at the same time some come in early some late some are deeper and some are short. They don't fly in the same wing pattern which is the most important. Ones I find the perfect 3-4 birds I will cull the rest of my birds and start all over again.

I think it is all up to you, Do you want to be a roller breeder or a roller Keeper? Also how much time do you have, and how long are you willing to wait to see results.? For me when I started with my rollers I rolledum all down. out of 20 birds more than half would crash... However I stook with um and selected the best outta the few that were worthy and now I rarely rolldown a bird... About 6 a year and Im ok with those odds. Time will tell and you ither have to spend the time to figure it out and see for yourself or take someones word. I have known guys that have had 5diffrent families and do well,, but if you are looking at the big picture it is better to only look at a couple pictures at a time,, ya know.. The more pictures the harder it is to pick out the big one....LOL hope this helps
