Lavender is Spread Ash Red whereas Silver is Blue Dilute. Sorry, don't have pics. I'm sure one of the genetic experts will correct me if I'm wrong.

Hold on guys..........Those of you who think this is a Blur Bar,better get your glasses rechecked...It is not a Blue Bar. Their is NO blue in this bird.
It looks to me like a red bar.

Mate an Ash Red cock bird to a Black hen and then watch for Lavenders you will raise from that mating.

Silver is Dilute Blue. One or both of the birds must carry the color modifier "Dilute" in order to raise Silver Bars.

EmDog,
What I mean is what I said on the other post."There will always be those that like to see colour in their flocks."Nick(Wattsup) was also giving these colour fancier guys a hard time and I'm just saying you might as well give up on it cause you're not gonna change what they like.Peace Bro.

I am with Jimbo on this one. Lavender is a spread ash red and Silver is a dilute blue bar. (looks like a dunn bar)

Those were the best birds I started out with. I have grown to love them so much. That is my color! Why not have birds that are great in the air and look good too..

In my opinion,to chase a certain colour with Birmingham Rollers is not the way to go if you want better performers. One should always breed the best birds to the best birds, not breed a bird because of it's colour, but everyone has different ideals and to want to breed a bird because of it's colour or because it has crests or feathers on it's feet, that is that persons business and not my place to shoot him down because of that.kopetsa wants to have certain colours in his loft and that is his business. The short time I've spent raising BRs has shown me that if I want lots of colour in my flyers,I should try another performing breed like Oriental Rollers or Doneks, which I have been doing. There are other performing breeds with lots of colour too,but the BRs I want to own and can get a hold of in this part of the country don't have a lot of colour.Do I get my point across?I'm trying.

Oh yeah you got your point across.. It's weird to because out of my yellows, they keep throwing the odd blue bar here and there.. I got three out of one yellow hen already in 08, and the, didn't carry blue in his background..

Yeah everybody has a point.. But when I got my yellow hen originally it came out of a loft, where there were only black, blue and red.. So it came from somewhere in one of the bird's past.

Oh yeah. And colour is not the only reason I'm flying Doneks and Orientals now.I want performers that are good at avoiding BOP and I beleive I have that with these breeds.
