In regards to percentages. What birds in your loft work better 4 u the pearl eyes, yellow, orange etc? Since I have been paying attention to this, my birds with the orange eyes can roll their a-- off. Not to take anything away from pearl eyes etc

It seems like the orange eye birds has a real hard, fast roll

most of my birds are orange eyed, so that is what I see the better rolls coming from....But, havent paid to much attention to the eye after watching who was doing what..Might have to check that out.

Yellow to orange as well. I only have a couple of pearl eyed birds and I also breed those to the orange eyed birds.

I really used to look really hard at this. When I built one side of my family I used one 'Super Ornge Eye'd cock on three perl eyed hens. and all the off spring reflect either of the two. I really couldent say wich eye identifyed the better roller. Then I got the foundation of my other family. Thease birds wrer mostly bull eye, odd eye and cracked eye, Thease birds were alot deeper,, usally. After 10yers+ I decided the eye really didnt mean much in reguards to my family of rollers. Now I just breedum. I have one open loft that holds 6 pairs and for the past two years Ive just let them breed with whoever, as they are all closely related and at this point I just want to have higher percentages. On the other hand I have 4 indivual pens, I keep records on thease birds. But as far as the eye thing I just breed best to best reguardless of relation or eye.
