does any one know how to breed white bars?
or barless?
or any other pretty colors?
i have been trying to breed for color for a long time and i have not gotten a color that i have wanted. i just get the color that is uglier than a regular barn pigeon.
any help???

i have no idea...lol..try finding a white bar/bareless/colors u want and mate it.u will get it forsure.. but some maybe throw u a variety of colors also..

Fresno,
You want birds that spin or a bird that is just pretty to look at? My advice is get more experience and get to know rollers more before you do any of that tinkering.

fresnobirdman......I would consider what Dave stated. Get more experience with rollers. Color should be secondary. The spin is top priority when breeding.

you'll have to study hard on those colors genetics long before you start trying to breed some white bars. tony should know. just kidding tony. Maybe when you become a master in this but in the mean while stick with those beautiful barn pigeon looking rollers.-joe v.

I am pretty sure that Opal is linked to white bars but I do not know all of the details.
If you are serious about color breeding and serious about wanting the roll e-mail me at lasleypigeons@yahoo.com and I can get you James Turners e-mail address. I am sure he can help you with your questions. If you are not aware of who he is there is a article in the Reading Room about him. I do not know him personally but have exchanged e-mail with him a few times and he seems very helpful.

As color birds go its just like every other family out their. Find the rite family that roller.

Like Indy said James Turner is the best if you want to talk color and rolls. He is the guy who put colors into quality rollers. You might think about working on the Tuner birds as they come in various colors from opal, andalusian, pencil etc. Top it off some of the finest rollers out there. Just my opinion though.xue

Fresno, your post cracks me up. A color uglier than a regular barn pigeon? lol I'm with you -- I think there are many who would like to have birds that would roll but still be colorful, and what would top even that, would be to have them and not be dissed for it! :)

Fresno, if you plan on flying in your area be very careful.
The polities is very big. Color might not be the way to go.
A few of the hmong member in the clubs are in that group of polities as will. Instead of being a man and steping up they became someone girlfreind. Not pointing out what is rite or wrong.

Andy, I considered you a friend and for you to say that about us not stepping up by being a man and being someone's girlfriend caught me by surprise. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it if I made that statement towards you. We got nothing to hide here. If you want to make a statement like that than please show some proof. How many hmong brothers has rollers in your area? Over 20 guys.
How many fly because of polities.
The most is 5.
When we talk I thought it was to bring everyone together.
This is a hobby? Rite? Does it matter what family of rollers people fly? Does it matter if their color birds or not? If their willing to join the club to better themself why stop them.
Dave, I still remember what you wrote to me in a differnet forum.

-I've been in this sports for the longest time and I didn't make a impact unit you took second in the WC. To bring us hmong brothers into the picture.

-Yes, I've been in the game longer them you. But you have to understand where our hmong people came from. Welfare and family moving to get a better life is different from today.
That does have a impact on birds. Ask one of your club memeber that know me.
I was flying birds before him. Chue Vang and I was the only hmong brother in the early 90's that flew with the Merced club. Back them everyone was still back yard flying.
And for you to disrespect me because you won before me doesn't make you a better person.
Dave, sooner or later I will be moving back to Cally and them will see who has the better birds.

Dave, what happen to your cousin Richard Her the guy who work under you? The one you took into the club the one you took around to all your fly. IT was you that got everyone birds stolen. Richard even stole my brother in law birds. Did your club know that.
If you want more proof ask Richard dad. They raise chicken over at your house. You where the one who F-up the club thats why people birds got stolen!!
Now you trying to put the problem on someone else to make you look clean.

Richard HER was like family to you. He even told us who you like and didn't like and who you wanted their birds to be taken out.
It got to a point that Richard didn't want to do it no more and them you got mad.

O really... Well do you remember last year when I was still searching to buy birds around this time last year and you told me you were going to bring a kit of birds for me to fly when you were coming down for the new year but then I got some already and my space wasn't much.

Hi again, my name is actually Ying and Yang is my last. But anywaise I got some junk birds to fly last year and then got rid of them in the beginning of this year and got some better ones. The birds are still young but some are rolling and also got a buddie working with me on these birds. Welps whenever you come down to F-town give me a hollar.

If you want white bar you need another white bar.
As for color rollers go with the family you like.
But if you look for roll and color their are only a couple of family that will have that.
Also their harder to control.

People know what I stand for and what I do for this hobby. You take things too personally even bringing back up past constructive debates. I don't need to make any more comments to make things worse. People can make up their minds on who is right and who is wrong here. Hope you take a step back, think with a clear mind, and relax a bit.
