I know first hand what a person can make out of scrap wood have a look...
the back, two sides & perches are scrap I did have to buy some wood but I did save some $$

Those are really nice. LOL on the TV cabinet! Looks like you stained/finished that one, but the good looking one with the wire -- is that unfinished wood? Will it be okay outside? I used treated scrap lumber on mine on anything that would come in contact with the sun/earth/rain. Right now, you can get scrap anything around here for free, on the side of the road. Hurricane debris, but lots of it is actually good stuff. I love recycling and it's killing me to see all this stuff being picked up and taken to the dump!

laura,they r stained and treated with thompson water sealer besides it does not rain in sunny california to much rick
