Why do my birds have a funny smell to them?? After I handle them and etc... my hands smell terrible.
Is there anything to add to the bath water to help the birds from smelling??

I guess the best way to describe it would be sour?? But its not coming from its mouth or anything seems like its feathers and body...

No the birds are very healthy in my opinion. Perhaps its the stuff I sprayed on them to kill the lice? But its been awhile now so I figured the smell would be gone.
And I let them take a bath about once a week or so.

you can also use some epsom salt in the bath water. A teaspoon of plain clorine bleach in the bath water might work also. I had a neighbor buy birds at a swap meet for her grand daughter for 4H. She brought them to me to check out and they also had a smell like death. I almost couldn`t wash it off my hands. I told her to use the bleach water and she said it worked, but I never went to see them again. I was skeered. I didnt want them anywhere near my loft... ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

There might be something dead around the loft. They should not smell at all. Clean the loft very good and bleach the area. Bath the bird and put some epson salt in the water. Don't put anything for lice for 3 weeks after this. There should be no smell afther you this.
Show us some pictures of your loft inside and outside to see how it looks like.
