The answer to your questions can only be accurately answered by going out and seeing the kits flown during those competitions. Words in any form or fancy cannot truly describe what makes a good kit...good. Words have little descriptive value in this regards.

Ive seen a lot of kits in every state around me. After watching some of them I feel like coming home and culling everything I got. Then I see others that are from really good reputable families and it reminds me that my birds are just as capable as they are. ( with a little luck and good management on my part) Bottom line.... Fly what you got if you can. You`ll learn something from it almost every time... ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

Well said Cliff, Silent 187 you've got to make the time to go out and see what it takes to compete. Its time to leave that rooster of yours in the cage and come out see people fly.

To compete you have to take a chance! it is up to the birds, one day they are smokin and the next day they are more laid back ! no roller smokes every time it flys! That is why you need good management and have to really study your birds,it does not happen overnight ---------- Pat

What's good enough to compete you say???
Hmm.... now that's a good question.
The question one should be asking is: What is good enough to win?

Does a small kit of birds fly better than a large one ?? A friend flys about 40 at a time. And I have been there when he turns out just a few 10 to 15 of the same kit.. The smaller kit seams to roll and fly together better than the large one does. Is this about the way they should fly ?? I always fly 15 to 18 birds. And I have told him I think he would have a lot better luck staying with the small kit ?? We have a lot of the same blood lines. And I fly 3 kits a day. And they roll real good.
Thank You

If you have good birds and they smoking up there in that sky well its hard enough to look at all 20 with the human eye and catch everything.especially if they are not rolling at the same time..your eyes are everywhere so imagine 40 birds .. now I would like to fly a big kit but that's when its just for fun fill the whole sky.. snowing all over the place..but for studying my birds I go for a small kit in the sky before a large one.. ---------- Ralph
