Never knew Lavenders come in Checks? All ways believed they were all bars. Spread Ash Red Bars! All ways figured if Lavenders were checks, they would just be regular Spread Ash Reds or as the old timers use to call them "Duns".
Hope that Lavender turns out - great performers them Lavenders can be.

Nice looking lavender, with some red check. I raised one olso this year out of my mee family. The red check is more pronounced on my bird but they sure make for a good looking bird and yes the lavenders can show some great spin. Hope yours and mine turn out to be great spinners, otherwise looks only get them so far! Terry

In genetic terminology there is no lavender red check. The bird in the original post is a spread ash red, probably bar being masked. The red lacing is because the bird carries recessive red. It will go away when it molts, leaving a more clean shield. Some bird that retain ash red lacing are masking T-pattern. Dun is dilute spread blue (black). Roller genetic jargon is all over the board and usually people call them whatever they look like which is often not the true definition of the color. The "dun" rollers are usually spread ash red masking T-pattern or check, and includes Dirty and kite bronze. Sooty is often present as well.
