i raised a few late birds for a good friend of mine and as most of the time late hatch are small!! this time real small!! so my friend cudnt belive how small they turnd out!! so my question is since they are so small would they produce birds as small as them or their parents? and if flown would ther performance be as good as bros and their sisters and mom and dad!! the yungsters im talking about are off my best no roll downs in almost 3 and a half years!! and all the good stuff we all ask for!! so ill the late hatch produce small like them or bigger like mom and dad and dose the size and them beeing late hatch affect ther quality in them and in future kids????

I have a feeling that maybe that round was neglected due to the moult and weather. Just a hunch.
As to size, it matters little. Genetics can be all over the board and not two siblings will ever perform the same.
Big birds will breed small just as small will breed big.
The point is, stock the best regardless of what you think it will produce. Performance should all ways come first.
90 percent of my breeders are huge. Yet they still breed me good sized pigeons. Guys who inbred usually get really small pigeons. Means nothing if the performance isn't there.
