No wonder the paint wasn't working for me, I was painting the top side of the bird!
Just joking!
This is kool stuff Thor! Maybe, if we all put our heads together, we could put a whole series together of these little helpful ideas.
One thing that I do different on the dust, is I cut the foot out of a pr of panty hose(not mine), and pour about a cup of dust in there and pat the bird with it. It makes it easy to dust the loft and nest boxes also!

Sounds like a great idea Val :) Some one else mentioned the pantyhose method to me. May have to try it next time. The thing is, I don't usually dust the whole bird any ways. Just the problem areas like: the flights, tails, neck and crop area.
It does wash off but not as easy as Halloween hair spray paint. The thing I dislike about about Halloween spray is it is too messy. Hard to get a controlled spray. With the Bingo markers, you can dot in certain patterns with ease.
Thor
P.S. Funny thing, I don't even play Bingo at the local casino. Yet I can't fly any thing without them markers :)
Thanks for the video. I've heard of people dusting their birds, but I haven't seen one so this video helps a lot. So that is the way to do it. Maybe someone can show a video using a panty hose for dusting.
How many bag of that sevin dust do you use per bird?
it wont let me view anything...says , sorry, video no longer available... Also it wont show any of the posts attached. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts
I was in the process of uploading a cleaner version. I noticed that the one I uploaded the text on it was lagging and un timely. The new ones looks fine. The old one had alot of dead air.
If you are referring to when dusting... no I don't. Just because I'm out side. I would recommend using a mask if you were to be inclosed when dusting tho. If you listen close enough, you can actually hear me huff and puffing. Sucking up fresh air, then holding my breathe to the point where it explodes... :)
I usually wear my heavy duty mask any time I enter the lofts. If I am out side, then no mask.

Hey Thor, Nice vids., Walmart sells a small stainless steel can in the kitchen or housewares dept. for a few bucks. It has a plastic cover, with a fine wire mesh under the cover. It is made to dust cakes or confections with powdered sugar, or seven dust. smile. It's easy to reload, holds enough for about 20 birds, won't rust, and has a minimal amount of waste. Thom
