Wow! Nothing like a wolf in the sheep pen! Owls are ruthless and aren't afraid of anything. I'm surprised that he didn't kill all of them and then eat 'em.

I've never left my trap open overnight but do during the day sometimes for missing birds to get back in as soon as they come back but the 4"-45degree ABS pipe traps that big sucker wouldn't have gotten in them.Lucky that's all the damage he did!!

Sorry to hear your loss. When I looked at your picture I thought I am seeing a photoshop pic. But then I trust you so I say "damn!" That is surreal! Your rollers seem not scared of it.

I have BOP experience today as well.

Actually, there are 23 white rollers in with the owl but they are all hiding up to the left doubled up on perches.

Owls are actually are friends in this roller game. Their the only natural predator for hawks and falcons. Just remember to close that trap door!

Maybe that's why I don't have any problems with hawks at my place, we have a ton of owls around.

Man, that is a great picture. I have to say that I hate them coming after our rollers, but that bird is beautiful, beautiful.

Juan cracked me up with his comment!

We use the 4" PVC elbows -- LOVE 'EM!

When I was a kid I had a GreatHorned owl get in a cage and it bit all the heads off and didn't eat any of the pigeons, I called the game warden he came and got it. I don't know if I was just small but that thing looked huge.

last year a little owl got in my homer cage I found it dead, it was half the size of the homers and they had babies I guess they killed it. My mom would have said "his eyes were bigger than his Belly"

Hey Square, the fires have made changes around here, I have bears every night for the last 3 weeks coming in and eating plums and apples, they have ripped limbs off trees, I have to watch I don't step in bear crap when I'm feeding the pigeons, the bears walk up and down between the cages.

I think owl hunts at night so you are safe if you lock your trap and nothing gets in.
