Hi guys,

Paul, Dwight, and Eldon came by my place about 10:15 this morning and Paul showed me his scorecard. He had 884 I believe it was. Several 3/4 turns and 1.6 x 1.4. He and Dwight both said they only rolled the first 10 minutes and then shut it down.

Congrats Paul! Your hard work is paying off!

FYI - I scored 105 I think. Birds were a bit stiff and flying on one wing to the left 90% of the time. Lost 2 more to hwks getting them ready but don't think that really had a huge impact. I had them a bit too strong and too much travelling!

I believe that is the highest score ever in the central Valley of California.

Regards,

Ken

Hey all....the score was 804.16

Here are the Breaks..8,10,10,9,8,6,6,5,14,12,6,6,7,12,16,15,10,12,15

Q=1.6 D=1.4

The birds quit rolling after 10 minutes...and I mean shut it down...it was odd to me because usually when they are on..there are hard to shut off...lOL.....the were flying kind of wierd...and they were chased by two BOP about 4 days ago....and then had one on the loft 3 days ago......I thought for sure there must have been a BOP in the area...because they gained a little altitude and then shut down...

Sure enough..when I came back from Sac at about Noon...the birds were still flying and there was a Cooper's sitting on my loft....so those little bugers knew that there was something up......Damn BOP....anyway....The BOP flew off when I yelled at it and ran toward it....and the the birds landed instantly.....

But I am so excited about the fly..the birds were on...and the Depth is usually my strong point..but they really shallowed up before they shut down....anyway...

Good job to Ken and Dwight....Ken had some nice breaks...but they stayed on that damn left wing....a couple birds were pulling the kit....well...now I cant wait for breeding season..!!!

Ok here is what was in the kit. The 08 Ruby/Mort Crosses are 2nd and 3rd generation (Flashover strain)....with some 3/4 blood on each side.. The 07 Ruby Mort Crosses are half and the first Gen

I flew 20 Birds

08 Ruby Mort Crosses- 10
07 Ruby Mort Crosses- 4
08 Mort- 1
07 Mort- 2
08 Mort/Chuck Roe 2
07 Mort/Chuck Roe 1

I switched my A-Team to the Center Box from the Left side and it kind of got them a little excited...real active...for 10 minutes anyway....LOL

Congrats Paul!

Now I only need to understand how to read those scores. I suppose it is different compared to homers. For homer, whoever gets home first fast, land, and trap wins. Any article to understand the scoring methodology?

Here you go RodSd I dug up this old post from Dave Sz.you can learn from it..very easy explain..

Each of those numbers represents a break and the number of birds in each break. In a break of 5 to 9 birds you get the exact number of birds that break, for your score, if 10 to 14 birds break, you score double the number, and if 15 to 19 birds break, you get triple that number. In other words a break of 6 birds gives you a score of 6, a break of 12 birds would give you a score of 24, and a break of 18 would give you a score of 54. You then take all those scores, add then up for your raw score, and then multiply the raw score times the quality and depth factors to get your final score.
