since you raise chicken what do you think about this hen that crows, like a rooster??? the feathering is female feathering but she crows..what do you think???
I have pretty good luck with the Golden's but have all kinds of problems with the Silver's. Mine are very tiny but think they are giants, the rooster in the picture, "Te Rouge" will wear you out with his spurs. He is also a good look-out for the BOP's when he sounds the alarm the hens run to get under something to hide. ---------- "Semper Fi" SD
You know, my old sebright rooster that I had would fly off of the roost at you spurring all the way! You could swat him & he'd come back for more! Lol! The smallest critters in the barnyard & definitely the toughest! They'll take on a dog, no problem! I just might get me a guard sebright! They're definitely entertaining.
Brudah, you are so right! Te Rouge had a run in with my field bred English Cocker Spaniel, he flogged her several times and then she held him down and pulled all his tail feathers out, then brought him to me, other than having dog slobber all over him and minus tail feathers he was OK. When the pup is near the Chicken pen, he will sidle up to the wire and fly against it, I have more control over the cocker now and can call her off but she will make a run at him just to remind him of last time!!! You know, I've been called a large man before & get called Paul Bunyon a lot too as I'm 6'4" & 340 but those little birds are by far the largest spirited birds around! It's like chihuahua dogs, if they had any size, they'd be real menaces!
