Oh there are several ways. OSB and 2x2 will work too..

I use 1x6 and cut them like this 1-6" long and 1- 5 1/2 long. match the up so they are even and screw or nail them together in a V fashion. Then get a piece of scrap or cut a small piece to attach to the back. You are ready to attach it to the wall. Some people use 1x4's but I think 1x6 work much better for keeping birds clean.

I use 1X6" pine,cut them on a 45 degree at the ends 7.5 " long then predrill the piece you put the screw to and screw 'em together then cut a piece of plywood(1/2")into a 4"X4" piece and screw that to the back of the perch and screw through the plywood to the wall or stud whatever. ---------- Kel. take some wood wide-e-nuff for your birds to sit on them, screw them together I put a second piece of wood to screw the whole thing to the wall..
very easy to make..
