ok i have 14 pairs and a big ass loft and i was thinking i should just pair up the pairs in another cage till they pair up and then put them back in the big loft will this be good enough to start an open loft breeding or should i do sumtin else and yeah theres gonna be nest everywhere so they can pick their own....

Your preferance guy. Since youre new at this game, you will do a ton of experimenting before you decde what you like best. Open loft is great for me as I spend time out there.

Very good advice Rick. Silent you definitely need to pair the ones you want or they will pick the ones they want. Letting them do it themselves I have found many times they will pick a bird similar to themselves. Not always bad but not always what I want.

When using open loft breeding, put your cock birds in & let them pick the nest they want. This step takes about a week. When you add your hens lock them in the nest box with their mate, after an hour or so open a couple of nest boxes, spread out over the nesting area. When you notice them going to the right nest box, lock them in again & open up a couple of others. Keep doing this until you have all your hens going to where you want them to be. Keep an eye on them. At night lock them in their nest boxes.
When changing your pairs around always put your cocks in the same nest boxes, the hens will go where you want.
Open loft breeding works fine if you have 1 family, if any cheating goes on the blood is still there.
I went open loft for the 1st couple of years, but for the last 13 years I have been using individual nest boxes. I want my pedigrees to be acurate.
