To stock a bird means to put it into the breeders, usually never to fly again. However very few of us don't get nailed by the BOP & I myself still fly them. I flew an old hen this past year a 1994. It took a couple of months, but when she started rolling again, I knew why she was stocked. I stocked her in 1998. This hen is a foundation bird & 75% of my Bob Brown line has her blood in it. She is a great, great grandaughter to Bob's 1972 black grizzle cock. It is a real shame that so many birds get taken by the BOP, they always seem to take the best 1's.
