Yeah bit if nature takes it course, everything will be gone. I don't breed to many birds each year. I only breed my absolute best pairs.. and they are worth a whole lot to me; the birds that come out of it of course. Somebody wanted to buy the yellow that got eaten yesterday, so I should have just said yes, so the poor thing wouldn't have gotten taken.. :( Well long lock down again.. I mean now my babies and my Neibels will not properly ever develop.. Also I think I am going to go with just selfs next year except for in show birds.

Try taking all those Monty birds and breed em next spring and fly the young. You could easily breed 60 out of them especially if you foster the eggs out.

Yeah I guess I can breed the deuce out of 'em and fly the young but it's like the worst site in the world to see that BOP chasing it and carrying it away in its feet.. >: stupid this is such BS that nothing can be done, that's ridiculous!

Kel. I think I am going to go with just selfs.. I don't want the white to be flashing here when they fly because they get more easily noticed..

Its a numbers game.. the more you breed the more you have for replacement. Just to mention a couple of top competitors: Abel Ibarra, Jerry Higgins Tim Decker. Keith London etc. These guys breed a couple of hundred of birds every year so they can stay on top of the competition and its not easy. They almost all year round have a minimum of 4 plus kits if not more. They loose some and get replaced....So breed lots and lots of more...Hopes this helps..

A while back i took my 7 year old sun to the kcrc he bought a roller for a few bucks and was happy. He would fly his bird with my kit and one day bam! R.I.P.csra09#703. He was devastated.I live in N. Hollywood there use to be a lot of street pigeons around not so much any more. Back in the 80's use to see 1 bop a year.Good times

I have been having issues with BOP lately as well and understand your frustration. One thing I have tried with decent results is feeding the crows. I had a single $4.00 steak that went bad and have been feeding the crows for about two weeks off of it. By attracting the crows I have also caused them to nest down in the area around my house. Now every time my rival Coopers come's over the lofts he is readily chased away.

Andrew....I haven't seen this mentioned so far. Have you tried making all sorts of noises, causing distractions, throwing all sorts of object in the air, yelling and screaming when you see the BOP around?? It's just a thought....
