Stiff can mean any thing from rolling only once per say every 3 minutes to once every 20 minutes. No body wants to wait that long just to see a good roll. Once a minute is a solid performer.

To me a stiff bird is a bird that rolls once every 3 breaks. I don't look at my birds per minute but focus more on who does what during the breaks.

THISROLL.... to me stiff...is when a bird doesn't roll.
They just fly around like a "homer".

To me Stiff is a bird with too much control.
A bird that rolls very seldom even if the others are rolling he can just keep flying and roll every onece in a while.

If that means stiff.. what's the term for a birds that kinda looses control.. like went from 5 to 10 footer then rolldown from more than 30 footer.. or a birds that all of a sudden rolls straight down when it just goes 10-20 feet up before it actually flys (or you can say, right when it takes off...)
sorry didn't mean to jack this thread ..

Projeck,

Those birds are call "bumpers". Birds that are border line hot and bump coming out or coming in are bumpers. The term "roll down" is used for a bird that rolls from any height all the way down into the ground. Many guys call these "lawn darts".

Ive had some birds like this that eventually change their ways,, And Ive hade some in the past that didnt have any longjevity,, they peak then go stiff for ther rest of the time I decide to keepum...oyea and a true rolldown seem to do alot better in the trash...

My son has a parlor roller just to amuse himself with. I would never think of breeding that bird as I did when I was a kid. Lawn dart city! That's an excellent name for them Lol!
