Well fellas Kevin Monroe put up some smokers this morning in a cold strong wind. Although I do not remember his score specifics... He is currently the leader with 1700 plus points, nice quality and depth, and 16 double digit breaks... it was a sight to see. If he had not have been fighting the wind he would have scored over 2000 for sure.Congrats Mr. Monroe!!! Very Nice!!!

They were busting. The wind was just taking them off too. It was funny, Eldon and Michael took off chasing the kit so they didn't loose sight of them behind the trees... they ended up out in the middle of the pasture accross the street from Kevins house. He got 16 double digit breaks, I know he got a 19 bird break, and I swear to god I watched a full turn once, probably when Eldon was crawling through the fence LOL... they were working their asses off. They actually were fighting the wind so bad that it took some of the roll away and they did not work the last part of the fly... it was all they could do to not end up in south texas somewhere. The wind was 15-20 MPH which they actually handled real well... but there were also some big gusts that tore them up. I'm telling you... if it were not for the wind, he would have been "well over" 2000. They had something like 675 raw... it was pretty. I told somebody in a post last night that if Kevin had a little luck he was going to hit big... I just knew it. When Kevin's birds are right... they are second to none. I wish you could have seen it too. Kevin deserves it too... hes a good pigeon man! ---------- Joe Dan Parson Full Turn Lofts North Texas

Thank you all,
I hope the score holds up. I know we have some very good roller men left to fly yet. I'd like to thank the good lord for shineing on the birds yesterday and I'm very greatful just to be in the top ten.
George you are correct I fly an english based kit and I also have some birds that trace back to Mr Reed and Mr Higgins. The team was about a 50/50 mix. Kev

Great Score Kevin! It would be interesting to know whether he flew his Masons, like I think he did at the convention. Do you know Joe Dan? Any news on Rick Mee's score yet? Cliff

Cliff I think it is fair to say that his kit flow at the convention and his competition kit differed greatly... in actual birds in it... and mainly in prepparation. Kevin was not preparing his kit for competition quite yet during the convention because his birds needed more time to get out of molt. Hell when he flew that saturday at the convention he had not been home since wednesday of that week and his son had just made sure they were fed and watered for him.
Darrell Johnson flew today, not Rick Mee. Rick flies tomorrow. Darrell got a 148 I believe,,, and DQ'd on his second kit if my memory serves me correctly. ---------- Joe Dan Parson Full Turn Lofts North Texas
