I kinda like to mirror the lofts to the house,, However that isnt the case for me now. Reguardless of what you paint the outside the inside is what matters. I dont know and havent checked Tony's stuff but they do sell paint specificlly for the interior of the loft. The main thing is to seal the porious surface of the wood, I used stain for the exterior of my lofts and Barn Yard red for the interior. I seem to always use this color and I dont even really like Red..LOL no disrepect, it more of a price thing. Good luck.

You can use any color, but keep in mind that dark colors absorb more sun rays and stay hot in the sun. Most cages are in sunlight since birds like the sun rays but with out insulation a wall of a loft or kit box can get very hot inside.
I painted the outside with light colors for this reason and the trim a dark color. Inside or out you should use a good wood primer first to make the paint last longer. I painted the inside white with a primer then a gloss paint and it makes it easier to clean. Flat paints are harder to clean on the inside, since they do not have a smooth surface.
Most every professional paint store has discounted paints that were mis-tinted and are more than half price off. Sometimes you can get them for 3/4% off regular price. You can bargin with them because they will recyle the paint anyway. But the exception is you have to choose from the colors they already have.
Also a good exterior or interior paint will say 100% acrylic, that is the sign of quality in paint. Vynal + acrylic are low grade paints. Acrylic and latex are the same thing. Bill C a painter contractor.

Dont mater about price i enjoy the birds and the coop is a place that i call home for my rollers and do not like people to critisize the loft.If you do something do it right or dont do it at all.

I matched my loft color with our house color. Basically paint it so it looks good so you don't irritates your neighbor.

Here in San Diego some houses are quite close. I live in suburban area and that neighbor's opinion can matter. There are houses here where people can complain to the housing authority (home association) and frankly can tell you even what color to paint your house or what to do with your front yard. I am, if you will, practicing diplomacy. If you live in a rural area, then probably it really doesn't matter. We used to live in a rural area and it was like freedom. Obviously, if I painted my loft with a nice color and the neighbor still complains, then the neighbor can suck it up!

Andrew has a point and that is use stain when possible. It is easier to maintain and its protection is superior to paint
