Tomas the first thing is finding at least three othere guys that realy want to fly birds. once you have that chose a name and pick whos who. the pres in most clubs is just to make sure the rules are followed and to work at keeping the club moving forward which mean all members fly and participate as much as posible. right down club rules and give each member a copy always vote its a club meaning group vote the majority rules so be carefull who you let in.

Well tomas its not easy putting a club together. I know i am the pres of LA county spinners we started with 5 members but theres only 2 die hard so until we get more members were the 2 man gang.for the future members they have to participate in club activities phlys club and w/c f/f for a yr then the 2 of us will decide if there die hard.

Tomas The most important thing is to get a few guys with the same goal in mind. Find a few People that are didicated and are willing to put one weekend a month for the club. A few of us started the San Gabriel Vally Spinners a few years ago. The important thing is to put down rules and make sure to enforce them equally. Support all members to get them off the grownd, its easy to make a club if only you have the good birds, help the new members get to a competetive level. Once your club takes off its up to all members to keep it alive, Vote out the dead waght and replace it with new energetic members. As a precident you must learn to make decicions that will help the club grow. We have about 17 members in our club,it's very dificult sometomes to keep everyone happy,so you try to make the mijority happy. I hope that helps. Hector Coya-SGVS precident

I am starting one now and have 7 others interested. I think the first criteria is that you have to be just dummer than hell. I am and it helps. It is a lot of work and the more you get the women involved the better off you will be. Us men don't know beans about putting an event together that requires food and drink and a place to do it at. Besides the birds you got to have something going on that makes it enjoyable; informative; and well structured in a relax invironment. Without structure nothing gets resolved; nothing moves along; and people will only come to one meeting if there ain't something in it for them. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Tomas, why do you want to start a club if you live in an area where there are already established clubs with good track records. Have you ever been part of a roller club? Dont try and reinvent the wheel get plugged in with established flyers. jmo. ---------- They gotta Spin to win.....Jay

Jay has a good point; if there are already local clubs available why start another. In the state I live there are no clubs; zero; nadda. There once was, but it kind of went by the wayside when the guy who kept it alive decided to give it up and nobody stepped forward to take his place. If you are starting a club get as many guys who are just waiting for the day to take over. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Hey Rudy, I got you a guy in Andrews today at the show. Gave him your number. Be on the lookout, his name is Sutton (no relation) I would call you but my phone went to Hobbs with my sister(long story). I`ll have it back Monday. I also met Bob Anderson from Oklahoma. Nick, I have a guy calling you from Arkansas. Said he is an hour and a half from you. Randy Pilcher. Said he had rollers as a kid and was interested.... He raises Kormoners. I have been telling them all day. I dont have any birds that dont fly or I cant eat. Extolling the virtues etc. We had 25 rollers at the show. Good stuff considering we only had 8 four years ago. No I didnt win. Guy was a show judge not a flyer judge. Did come in 2nd and third in the roller class.
