That loft is certainly a neighborhood pleaser! With that setup, you'll be able to breed year round. Are you gonna? Great job!

Nice loft thus far. If that was a room addition it would probably cost around $20,000-$30,000 here in California.

TT if pigeons are going in there, use wetwall instead of drywall. The moisture inside from ruins drywall.. Wetwall is the stuff we have in our bathrooms. That or solid marble. lol

Exactly what I do..Not that the OSB is much cheaper but that Stronger to drill into.. and hold better (such as perches) Awesome loft!

Pretty much the window and door came from a place called Tims Reuasbles, They sell products that have little defects like dings, etc, the osb came in from Totem the only thing that i cant get a deal on is the insulation which is 45.00 a bag, the shed i found on Kijiji.ca/ and or .com

I use 5.2 luan. Its not the best for screwing into, you just need to be sure to hit a stud for hanging cages or perchs ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

sundance thanks for the tip, Hifly11, Im going to be using a couple 250 or 175 watt heat bulbs, they keep the other loft pretty warm and thats not even insulated

I close off half (the flight pen 10x8 chunk) and have eggs hatching on the 1st of January every year.. Mine is more insulated than my house.. but I still have a double fan sucking everything out.. lol So I use 2-3 heat bulbs every year for the last few years and they work great. At -51 C (-59.2 F) (including wind chill) I had the loft at +18 C (64.4) which is of course perfect breeding weather! :)

I would want the option of more summer time ventilation. Maybe a screen with a door that you can close in the winter. You may also want to build in an attic fan to turn on while you are cleaning. My concern is that the loft looks very air tight, and that will get very dusty.
Maybe you already thought of all that. I can't tell by just looking at pictures.

Maxspin, I also bought a bathroom fan that i havent installed yet, the windows have screens that arnt fitted at the moment, and maybe like you said a screen door.

TT....good job. And I see that your getting some pretty good ideas. One more thing, you might think about putting in a roof vent of some kind at the top and some small vents at the bottom. VENTELATION is the key to a healthy loft... You want to air to circulate front to back or bottom to top...Not to cause a draft or cross wind. ---------- Fly High and Roll On
