I don't know this is my first lock down .but i got them exercising in a big pen 6by 8 .....now flying them I will let them fly the time they like until i get them in rhythm again I'm sure one or two will fly out but in a couple of days I should get them going again .since they were flying a whole year before i lock them up..but it will be fun I tell you that much..I still feed the one tablespoon so they not getting that fat with chasing them around in pen but conditioning wise they be out for sure .. --------- Ralph

yea here the weather is the same you know never gets freezing maybe 65 at night in winter but during the day always 80 ,85.. so I don't have to feed them to keep them warm just take the booze out they love to drink when on Vacation :). ---------- Ralph

I`ll put mine in the kitbox as soon as the weather stops freezing. Cut the feed back slow and fly as often as possible. 2 to 3 weeks, they should be back in kit form and then I`ll staart working the feed to get them where I want them physically. By the end of the month I`ll be bck on the regular feed schedule. I have 1 kit that I`ll fly thru the winter, time and weather permitting. They wont take long to get back in shape. Just gotta knock the fat off. ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

Hi Jerry, this can be tricky, If you have some good rollers any depth 15-40 feet it is even harder. The problem is you need to have them hungry ( skip one days feeding ) to trap in. If they are fed just a regular feed and seem hungry and let them out the next day I find only a few trap in within the first minute and most will loaf around and can take up to 30 minutes to an hour to trap in or more if they are not hungry enough. But on the other hand, letting them all out at once can have some roll down and injure them selves if they are not flown and have been locked down. So that is why I say it is tricky. They tend to roll more if when hungry and an epty stomach. Hand toss the deep rollers if you can but I like them hungry more than sitting out of the loft for a few hours so I skip one day feeding and feed less the second and third day before letting them out. Its amazing how some will trap right in while others will act stupid for a while and then finally trap in. The next time out I have them all going in right away or they get no food and then they are the first one in when they land. Bill C
