that happened to me once. it wasnt too long ago, i had a bop attack, i open my kit box so that they could get in as fast as they can, one of my white rollers got out, it was flying low back and forth of my kit box, i stuck my head in the kit box for no more than half a second, i look up, gone, no where to be seen, i waited for a couple of seconds, then i went to the small tree that i seen the cooper came out of, there it was, being teared apart alive, i scared the cooper with a stick, drop the bird, it was torn apart, the bird had no chance of survival.

Had it happen to me last week. I have(had) 11 late hatches and I let them out to fly. 10 were in the box already the last one was coming in. It was maybe 5 ft over my head and was decending quick. As I stuck my head in the kitbox to pour the feed, I heard it land on top of the kitbox. I pulled my head out and it was gone, never saw it again. If a BOP got it, it hit it on the top of the box within a couple feet away.
It was all but dark when it happened. Figured it was to late for a hawk, might of been a goty mokus, I don't know. I got scared and went in the house!!! ---------- Val

I had a youngbird with a injured leg out alone to soak up some sunlight. I fell asleep in the lawn chair watching the bird....then 45mins later I woke up not seeing it. I was gonna be late for school so I figured it trapped and went inside. After I came home from school the bird was no where to be seen inside the loft.
I think either a cat or a hawk got it.

that happened to me too sort of, i let a kit out about 18 birds and 1 stood in so i reached in to get it out and when i turned around to throw it up so it can fly with the rest the whole kit was gone nowhere to be found,i even got on my bike and rode around the neighborhood looking all over and no birds anywhere 30 minutes went by and still no birds,so there i am in awe what the heck happened,i was in disbelief a few minutes later i spotted them high above my house i mean they were way up their the whole kit,any higher and i think they would have left the atmosphere,i have never seen birds especially rollers go so high and it only took them a split second to disappear like rockets going straight up. because i never seen them circle the house once, after about an hour and a half they came back. I had my first hawk attack today. I saw a flash and then the Hawk was gone. I ran over to where I thought he would be and scared him off one of my young birds. He had the bird and was on the ground in a second. It is amazing how fast they are. By the way the roller is okay. A little scratch on a wing is all. I will be locking down for a little while. ---------- RT Williams
