Not enough daylight hours. Put a light on a timer to give the 3 extra hours in the morning. Make sure not to run it on at night, let them rest on the natural sundown.Just my opinion. ---------- Ty Vapor Trail Lofts

Welcome, where are you from? Ty is right, pigeons reqire light to get into a laying & breeding cycle. If you are in too cold of a region, your babies may not make it once they're too large for the parents to be in the nest with them. If you live in a warm climate, light should be your only problem.

And he set let there be light.
I keep my chickens laying with a light I usally do not breed my pigeons during the winter months but I have to this year. So I put in some of the brooder lights and now I am getting some eggs. ---------- David Curneal

Batman You should be breeding.. bats.. not Pigeons .with a name like that. If the birds are young sometimes they have a hard time getting started. If ..one in the Pair is ...older it works the best.. especially in the winter its harder to get the birds started. Protein can help start them... it is always good when you have a male and a female ..sometimes small cocks look henny. b winward

What age are your birds. If they are three months old or even six months old they are too young. If they are a year or older then they will get with the program once the weather warms up. They may be stressed a bit and not ready to breed if recently moved. Most cocks will breed the next day if with a new hen. GIve them plenty of nest material. Straw and pine needles ect. The only other thing is if they are all cocks or all hens. That is probably not your problem. Have you contacted the guy you got them from and asksed him whats going on with them??? He would know. Batman, rollers are rollers, homers are homers. I would say, find some rollers & breed them to rollers only. Mixing breeds outside of the roller realm is bigtime taboo! If you want both rollers & homers, go for it. Just dont mix them! It's like getting a whole lot of nothing for either breed.
I have birminghams & parlors, I would never think of mixing the two, I did as a kid & had roll down city, all that work for nothing!
