Well, you gotta go with the family. You'll find a way to keep in the birds. Old men have fun too!

I agree! Before you know it, you'll be an "old man" too! LOL

Get your family issues in check and if you get a chance to go to school, do it! Times are gonna get even harder before they get better!

Life's gonna get you down, the trick is, don't let it get you face down!

Be a rock!

Once you are hook up with pigeons, you will find a way or the pigeons will find you. The last time I had pigeons was when I was around 12. Twenty plus years later, I am back! Obviously there is now more hawks or other BOP. So they found a way, too! LOL!

If you can afford to get an education get it. And try to get an internship with a company before you finish college. I hated school but I knew I had to do it. Then I got a job through an internship and they paid for me to go back and get a master's. Sure glad I have it now. If you have to give up the birds for a while, make getting the birds back be your motivation for getting through school and getting a decent job. If you can't afford school learn a trade or go to vocational school and let getting the birds again be your motivation for learning a trade/getting job. It's a tough time to be a teeanager in the economy we are in. Getting a good job will be a challenge for the next few years, so work hard, be upbeat and excited but put the birds on hold if you need too, there's plenty of time to get back into birds.

Hey,

Go with what you have to do first.....There is light at the end of the Tunnel....here is a little story about me....I had pigeons from when I was about 7 years old and had to get rid of them when I was about 19...I had to go away to school....see life got in the way....Then I went to school.....then the fire academy....I still could not get pigeons....I was not stable yet....then I was hired at UCDFD....then I got married.....then there was school for the kids....wrestling matches.....etc etc....Life got in the way.....Finally in 02/03 I was back into pigeons.....So for 12 years I did not have the birds.....but I had to deal with life......I almost had to dump the birds again with my divorce.....I was willing to do anything to keep my family together.....But it all worked out.......For the birds anyway...LOL...no more wife...but it was not the birds that caused that.....but my point is.....you have to deal with life first.....

To make you feel a little bit better....here is the deal.....if you have to get rid of your birds and move to an apartment....when you get back into birds and if I am still around......and you need birds to get back into it....I will breed your a round of squeeks from all my pairs for you to get back into the game.....I hope my birds are not crap then...LOL...but anyway....that is my promise to you.......so if you have to sell....you will get full round of squeeks....that is close to a full kit of birds....so Get me your name and cut and paste this thread and send it to me at paulfullerton@sbcglobal.net....so I will file it away...then you cut and paste and print and keep it....that is just so I will not forget that I said this...cause I may be old too...lol....but life comes first but you will have birds again.

rock and ROLL

TR, I'm one of the "old guys." A lot of good advice has been given here. Education is the key-whether it be in the form of degrees or a solid vocation. Keep a goal in mind, and the birds are an excellent one. It can be a beacon that will lead you through whatever crap you must deal with. Get there "one day at a time." Even at 67 years old if I try to do more than that, it can be overwhelming

Paul F.-You are a class act! Not only because of this offer-that really does not surprise me. The class act classification comes because of the way you conduct yourself at all times on this forum. The words we use paint a portrait of each of us.
Geo.

TR,
I am another of those guys who got out for 20 years.
Pigeons have been around for a loooong time. They`ll be there when you get ready for them.

If I had to do things over again I wish I would`ve had some friends to push me in the right direction.
There are a lot of guys who will help you get up and running again, myself included.
