This happen on occasions,it wont mess up other egg, parents wont leave nest if you handle eggs, what I would do,is get some silicone quick drying, smooth it out over dent and replace in nest, this usually works, but no guarantees.

I have also had some luck with a small drop of clear finger nail polish over the dent! Just another idea. No guarantees here either!

I`d be hesitant to use the silicone due to the chemicals. The fingernail polish..??? If I was going to try something like this I`d use Liquid skin from the pharmacy. It dries quick and is meant to use on wounds so I doubt it would hurt the young developing...

Be careful of chemicals. eggs absorb things, I like sundance's idea best.

Ya know what works.Make some goo with flour and water(thick) and apply that to the dent area.Non toxic.

i have had this happen four times, all i do is cut a small piece of selotape slightly larger than the dent, body heat of parents makes it stick, tight no losses DEN,

CV,
I learned this trick back in the 50's.
Artists used chicken egg yolks to make their paints.
Use the egg yolk on the dent it will dry and be harder than the shell.
No chemicals. LOL

hey i just thought of this? i remember when 1 egg hatches it sometimes surrounds the unhatched egg perfectly.get a hatched egg and cover the one with a dent on it and apply some egg yolk.or get a chicken egg and break off a peice to paste it to the dent as patch apply egg yolk. no guarantee but i will try in the future
