Rabbit pellets have more alflfa in them, thats why their more green! Mine don't eat them as well either! ---------- Val

Rabbit pellets are mostly alaflfa and molasase based depending on the manufacture. This diet for an extended time will give the birds the runs and makes for a messy loft. ---------- David Curneal

This next breeding season Iam going to switch from Game bird pellets to Hog pellets. For one, they are cheaper. I can get them locally and not have to special order them. I would stay away from the rabbit pellets myself. ---------- Fly High and Roll On

Electric man nailed it. Most guys that feed pellets buy chicken pellets, I get either a poultry pellet from Southern States or Purina makes a product called Layena. It's made to give chickens everyhting they need to lay. Just don't get crumbles, make sure you get pellets, pigeons eat them better, I chicken will eat crumbles/mash cause the can kind of shovel it as they eat it. Pigeons pick each seed or in this case pellet. You can also add calcium gluconate to the water to keep calcium levels up for your hens.

Personally,I like to make up my own pure grain mixes, tho I do add pigeon pellets to breeder mix. They don't eat much of it given a choice and my homers or flying Doneks end up getting the leftover pellets and wheat. They are kept hungry so will eat anything and everything. My breeders are a little bit pampered. ---------- Kel.
