George, that looks like the training center in San Diego.

I was there in May for my nephew's ceremony. He's been in Iraq since September 12, 2008.

Tell him congratulations and let him know that his service is appreciated!

Russ

PS: he's not a kid anymore.

Bring those boys home from Iraq and Afghanistan now!!Never mind this war crap.It ain't gonna get ya anywhere but further buried in Debt and more enemies. My step-brother lost his 23 year old son in afghanistan last week and it has made me sick to think that he died for nothing.Corporal Mark Robert McLaren, gone from this earth along with 2 others in their LAV to mark the 100th Canadian soldier to be killed in Afghanistan.Do they tell you folks down south there in the news that the Taliban now control more than 72% of Afghan territory?

Sorry to hear of your loss Kelly. My daughters boyfriend just enlisted a couple weeks ago. It has us all sick of worrying already. He`s a good kid. So far the only boyfriend shes had that I`ve liked. I too hope they end this crap fast. I understand the idea of not giving up and appearing to lose, but this is a fight noone can win. Its just time to cut your losses and bring them home and let those over there deal with their own mess. We cant fix the world. We cant even fix our own part of it here in America. Maybe because we`re spending so much money on people and places that dont even care if they get fixed.

Scott,
You have your vision of the way it should be and other folks have theirs. Is that the only way you can react to others opinions?By shooting them down?Shows your intelligence.

Hey Kel, with all due respect, we have a volunteer military. No one is serving that did not or does not know what the stakes are.

I am so thankful that these men and women are serving for the cause of freedom. They keep our country safe from terrorists who want to destroy the West. Under Bush's leadership, our military has taken the fight to them and we haven't been hit since 9/11.

Can we just see this thread be the expression of "thanks" for the sacrifice so many are making on behalf of all of us, not a political statement?

Tony,
One mistake that has been made on this forum is to say in the posting policy "No talk of politics, government, wars religion" and whatever else and then to allow posts which glorify YOUR heroes of war and to promote a political candidate running for the ideals you prefer to go by.Talk of going to war IS a political statement in many person views. You have people from all walks of life and all parts of the world visiting this site and many I'm sure do not appreciate this kind of thing on a Roller pigeon forum.People(especially me)make comments other people don't like to hear and it creates bitter feelings. That is why you yourself created the posting policy to try and avoid such situations but now, especially since you decided to shut down the merchandise portion of your business, you have even gone against YOUR posting policy(Sarah Palin thread).(I'm not yelling with the capitals, just stressing my words).
I appreciate the knowledge I have gained by participating on this forum and have always tried to give back by helping others with the knowledge I've gained here and elsewhere in my short time as a pigeon lover and fancier, but I've had it up to my ears with the comments generated on here by the talk of politics and war,so I'll just leave peacefully,no need to boot anyone. There are other roller forums where I am welcomed and I'll be quite content chatting with my freinds there. Thanks for everything Tony and Joni Chavarria.Merry Christmas and see you in the movies!!----------

Deadend..obviously you are no longer "Dead End", but rather by way of the uniform you wear, you are part of the decision making process. Head high, shoulders back and walk a straight line. If you didnot lay it down, don't pick it up. De Oppresso Liber

Hey Kel, I started a Sarah Palin thread and if you will recall, I banned myself for 10 days for doing it. Also, that was well before I decided to cut back on pigeon products. One having nothing to do with the other.

Don't fall into the common liberal tactic of associating things that have nothing to do with each other in an attempt to make a point. Out of respect, I will leave it at that.

Remember, it takes two to fight. For a guy against war, you seem to do allot of fighting of your own. LOL

Kel, you really don't need to go away, no one is asking you to. Just pass by the threads that you don't agree with, you know that. Looking forward to reading your next roller post my friend.

(I'm sure do not appreciate this kind of thing)

Don't appreciate this kind of thing ? who the hell cares whether you or anyone else appreciates it or not.
What world are you from ?
We have the respect to honor our finest that serve us and we don't take it lightly when they are disrespected.

(and then to allow posts which glorify YOUR heroes of war)

Nobody can be this dumb

Hey George, my nieces' husband is a DI at Camp Pendleton, if he happened to have him as an instructor, I am sure he knows how to take responsibility for his actions.

When and if he wants to post again, ask him to call me and I would love to talk to him and get him back up and posting.

Yes, it takes courage for Deadendkid! Congrats!

However Kel. does have MANY valid points!!! I agree!

Scott "anti American thing with him.
If it was up to me I would boot his ass to a third world shit hole like Columbia." That's pathetic!!

Why do you say he is being ANTI-AMERICAN?? Where the heck did that come from? Now I would like you to explain what you mean..

It seems to me that to Kel, everything America does is war, war & more war. A simple retrospect in history would show you that if it were not for those countries who fended of Germany, Italy & Japan, preserved freedom not for just America, but for Canada as well; we'd be speaking German or wearing a lamp shade! Incedently, Canada was involved in the war before we were.

If it wasn't for those great volunteers like this young Marine and numerous others, the war would likely be being fought right here & not over there! How soon do people forget that it takes a strong, willing effort to maintain freedom. I have ancestors who fought in the French & Indian war all the way to four nephews currently serving I am proud of their willingness to protect others like you & me. It is a selfless act that puts them into a league all of their own. I do mourn for the losses of those who die, but I realize that they did it for me & deserve my support & respect. I honor all who step up in the service of freedom!

Kel, I thought we weren't going to post anymore anti-war/American politics garbage? A picture of a member is posted and everyone responds with positive comments, YOU decide to charge into another one of your anti-war tirades. Yes, the death of Canada's troops is very sad but you need to focus your attention on what YOUR Govt. is doing. Your posts seem to imply that U.S. political decisions control every aspect of your life. Canada is still a seperate country with it's own Govt. and it's own problems. I am not up to speed on Canadian politics(go figure) but I am sure there are alot of problems that you can focus your attention on. I do not appreciate the negative comments you post about MY President and MY Country.
I will leave you with a friendly word of advise. Be careful how you express your disagreement about the war. There are many American and Canadian military members who fully support what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan, 100 Canadians have made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. To publicly call their efforts and contributions a waste, is very disrespect-
ful to them and their families.

As for me and I hope everyone else on here. I plan to buy dinner or lunch for any of our military boys and girls who joined the sesrvice. If I am out to lunch I will buy them lunch too.
I just had a nephew Chistopher who joined the Air Force and graduated boot camp. He is in Texas and is comming home for Christmas. He is 19 years old and worked hard to get into the Air Force. He had to have surgery on one ear and if it didn't impove he would not get in. I have all the respect in the world for him. I have several bum teens who want to smoke pot and drink beer and not work and he worked since he got out of high School and that is the kind of men we have serving our country! Thanks for sharing Geroge. BIll C
