I lived 5 miles from Reggie Stewart and he was a Master at Flying birds.

Reggies training was very different from the normal way of training , yet his Birds performed BIGTIME.

he housed his Birds in all wire kit boxes , yes all Wire.

he fed them before he flew them , yes I did say he fed them before he flew them.

His Birds flew low and spun right in your FACE.

I once took a new flyer to his House and when we left he said "George you lied I thought you said to house the kit Birds in a Kitbox and dont feed them until after they flew"

I had to explain that Reggie was one of A kind and dont try to do what he does unless you have 60 years to learn LOL

I will always remember the things I learned from the Master " REGGIE STEWART"

Wow George, there is a name I have not heard in a long time. I knew Reggie as a kid in LA. there was a bunch of us that got started about the same time. I lived next door to the Norwoods, Paul Gomez, and Reggie, Gary Fuquhama, and many others all lived a few miles apart. Reggie had some real good West's of E. They were real deep and smooth. I hear he lives in Florida now, is he still flying birds?

George, now doing all that crazy stuff.. Let me ask you this do you think it was the stock that helped him or the style he used to fly them? My last question is what was STEWART working with (family of birds) I heard some, about this family... Good stuff...lol

Reggies family was his own , he did not like Birds that flew high, he told me he would never breed from High fllyers even if they were good spinners.

Sal when I look back the way Reggie housed his Birds and fed them a little wild Bird seed before he let them Fly was not to much out of the ordinary.

I have kept my Birds in dark kitboxes and kitboxes with Wire fronts .

I did not notice any difference, and I also have given my Birds wild Bird seed before I let them out with mixed results . One year I did that the Birds came out smoking and I scored 305 in the Fall Fly prelims.

Then another time I did it the Birds flew to fast and seemed like they were high on caffiene.

Sal I spend a lot of time with my Birds and I have probaly tried many things to get better performance.

I have learned that if a person has the right kind of Pigeons all he has to do is keep them healthy be consistent with the Flying ( daily until they start spinning then every two or three days after they are into the spin ) and pick the right Birds for a team and the Birds will do the rest.

I dont really consider training pigeons rocket science
I still believe if a Person knows the Basics and is consistent and patient, a person will get results.

that is of course if the STOCK the person is working with is decent, if the stock is not the right kind the owner will SUFFER years of FRUSTRATIONand poor results.

Hey George,
To answer your first question, I got rid of that Dick Stevens bird,it never realy turned out to be more than just an avarege roller, nothing that realy impressed me to stock it.
I remember Reggei Stuart,At this time hes not havening a good time in Florida,i Spoke to someone last week and they said he's doing time.
yea his birds where real good, open kit ,no walls ,all wire, and man those birds can Roll.
He did feed them Wild bird foodmthats all they ate, just what i do for comp,i learned it from him,and it works for my birds.

I remember the day I was there they skied out! I thought it was because he gave them canary seed before they flew. But I only saw them 1 time. He seemed quite the character though...

I got my first roller from Reggie. He has always been an extreme rollerman. He also had some long rolling parlors that he bred for a while.
Reggie likes them deep. I remember one he had in Duarte that he called Rollin Machine... super deep and did not bump. He had developed his own inbred family over the years and once told me that they were all practically the same.
